What is lab credit?
Lab credit is the formal recognition of a student’s responsible work in the Language Laboratory. The Language Laboratory is both a traditional course “lab” and a special extension of the classroom, an environment where skills can be built, exercised and honed. Students earn lab credit by attending the lab and properly completing their assigned lab lessons. The Language Laboratory reports attendance and lesson activities to instructors, who then factor this into the grading process. For those courses which require lab attendance, lab credit is an element of the overall course grade. For courses which usually do not require lab attendance, lab work may also be counted as extra credit. Be sure to check with your instructor if you are not sure about lab attendance or how credit is treated.
