What is KNIME?
KNIME is a modular framework (or platform) for graphically building and executing workflows and data analysis pipelines from predefined components (called “nodes”). A substantial number of standard data analysis and manipulation tools are distributed with KNIME. Additional features and functionality can be provided via so-called KNIME extensions. KNIME is developed by Prof. Michael Berthold’s group at the University of Konstanz in Germany. It is licensed under the Aladdin Free Public License, and is distributed for free. For more information on KNIME, visit the KNIME web site at http://www.knime.org. Schrödinger has selected KNIME as the foundation for its own pipelining offering, and offers a suite of cheminformatics and computational chemistry tools that plug directly into the core KNIME product.
