What is kiss cutting and/or score cut?
There are certain applications, especially with adhesives, where a product should only be cut through to a certain depth. For example, an adhesive may be composed of a layer of paper release liner, a layer of adhesive, a layer of polyester, a 2nd layer of adhesive and a top layer of paper release liner. A kiss cut would cut through all the layers except the bottom layer of paper release liner. A score cut, in contrast, would cut through just the top layer of paper release liner. See Diagram.
