Sora, Donald, and Goofy are asleep in order to regain their memories from Chain of Memories. Meanwhile the player character controls Roxas, who is actually Sora’s Nobody, in the first part of the game. Nobodies are the bodies left behind when people are turned into Heartless. Roxas explores a virtual world of Twilight Town created by DiZ (Darkness in Zero AKA Ansem the Wise). DiZ intends for Roxas to merge with Sora in order to allow Sora to regain his power and help him defeat Organization XIII.
