What is Kanarak all about?
The name KanaraK stands for “Knights And Nobles And Rogues And Kids” Thus the acronym KaNaRaK. Kanarak is a Venturing Crew with the Boy Scouts of America of LaSalle Council and hosts a live action role-playing game (LARP) that takes aspects of classical fantasy fiction such as Lord of the Rings, Robin Hood, King Arthur, improvisational theatre, Renaissance fairs, tabletop games like Dungeons and Dragons, and blends them all together. Kanarak is a PG-13, family based game that welcomes people of all ages. Children under 16 can play with adult supervision. Each player creates a character they’d best like to represent and allows them to play this role during a weekend of camping. Each game weekend has a story hosted by marshals and characters interact with that story, other players and the monsters, merchants, villains that inhabit the fictional world around them.
