What is Kairos Outside?
Kairos Outside is an ecumenical Christian ministry that demonstrates God’s love and grace to women with loved ones who are, or were, incarcerated. These women are wives, mothers, grandmothers, sisters, aunts and friends who essentially are “doing time” with their loved ones. The core of our ministry is the Kairos Outside Weekend, from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon, where our Guests can interact with each other and know they are not alone. Although the weekend is Christian in nature, Guests need not be affiliated with a religion to attend. The Kairos Outside team members have been involved in Cursillo, Walk to Emmaus, Tres Dias, Sunshine or Via de Christo “street weekends” or the Kairos Ministry. Team members are concerned, committed Christians who believe in our Guests and want to encourage them on their life journey.
