What is Juvenile Justice Ordinance 2000?
In Pakistan the latest legislation regarding children is Juvenile Justice System Ordinance, 2000. It contains 15 sections and also provides that Provincial Government may by notification in the official gazette make rules for carrying out the purposes of this Ordinance. The purpose of this Ordinance is to provide for protection of children in criminal litigation, their rehabilitation on society, reorganization of the juvenile courts and matters connected with it.
