“Just Cause” is the guiding principle that a public employer must follow whenever they engage some form of corrective action or progressive discipline for our employees. Supervisors/administrators are always expected to have “just cause” when disciplining an employee. Just cause protects the employee from unfair/unjust disciplinary action and is made up of a series of questions. Contact your Senior Building Representatives for more information regarding “Just Cause”. Back to Top What is a grievance and could I file one? A grievance is a claim by an employee, group of employees or the association based upon the interpretation, application or violation of policies, agreements and administrative decisions affecting an employee, group of employees or the employee association. If an employee feels that a violation has occurred, based on the explanation above, or even if the employee is unsure, that employee should contact their Senior Building Representative immediately.
