Almost thirty years have passed since the day that almost 900 people had died in a single incident that has forever clouded the history in US under a tragic garb. The incident that had taken place at Jonestown all those years ago has largely been echoed on the pages of the book written by Tim Reiterman, named “Raven: The Untold Story of the Rev. Jim Jones and His People.” After the single most highlighted event from that region, the town of Jonestown attained an almost overnight notorious repute. Till date, it remains to be the only other event in the recent history of America, where such a large number of people had been killed in one stroke [the other being the World Trade Center incident on Sep. 11, 2001]. The informal name of Jonestown was adhered to the community called “Peoples Temple Agricultural Project,” who were based in the northwestern part of Guyana.
