Similar to ODBC, JDBC provides another way to interact with data in a FileMaker Pro database. FileMaker Developer 6 includes a FileMaker JDBC driver that uses a standard API. Developers can use their favorite Java Rapid Application Development tool along with the FileMaker JDBC driver to build a custom Java application or applet that acts as a front end to a FileMaker Pro database.
