What is JavaScript?
JavaScript is a scripting language that is commonly used to construct web pages. JavaScript is used in a variety of ways to improve the website experience such as validating and allowing interactive content. In order for the website to work correctly then you must make sure JavaScript is enabled in your browser.
JavaScript is a platform-independent, event-driven, interpreted programming language developed by Netscape Communications Corp. and Sun Microsystems. Originally called LiveScript (and still called LiveWire by Netscape in its compiled, server-side incarnation), JavaScript is affiliated with Sun’s object-oriented programming language Java primarily as a marketing convenience. They interoperate well but are technically, functionally and behaviorally very different. JavaScript is useful for adding interactivity to the World Wide Web because scripts can be embedded in HTML files (i.e., web pages) simply by enclosing code in a tag pair. All modern browsers can interpret JavaScript — albeit with some irritating caveats. (More about them below.) JavaScript is a dynamic programming language for web pages. HTML (a static code) provides code for the webpage itself, and JavaScript can make dynamic changes so you can see your account information without reloading the page. A page created in HTML is static, meaning it won’t change ‘on-the-fly’. JavaScript, however, is dynamic and therefore makes it easier and more convenient for you to retrieve your account information and use the features of our site.
