What is Japanese Language like?
The Japanese language referred as NIHONGO (ni-hon-go) in Japan, is spoken by the approximately 120 million inhabitants of Japan, and by the Japanese living in Hawaii and on the North and South American main lands. It is also spoken as a second language by the Chinese and the Korean people who lived under Japanese occupation earlier this century. Spoken Japanese is easy to learn as the words are spoken exactly the way it is written. The grammar has many similarities to Indian languages making it all the more easy for Indians to learn. However, the writing part is challenging as the Japanese language has three scripts (Hiragana, Katakana and Kanji) used together. Dedicated effort and practice will enable the students to overcome the challenge as it is very interesting and fun to learn the Japanese script despite the challenge.
