What is it with people afraid to throw rice at weddings?
The rice they throw at weddings is dry. When you cook rice it swells up to about twice the size it was when it was dry. When birds eat they eat to fill themselves up, and as full stomach of rice gets wet inside the stomach it swells. If the Bird has filled it’s stomach with dry rice, when it become wet it swells and can swell past what it can handle, causing the stomach to rupture.
