What is it really like being a nursery nurse?

It’s hard. Depending on what setting you work in, and exactly what your role is, you could be working long hours, in a fast environment. Don’t listen to anyone who says it’s an easy option to work in a Nursery! There’s always something going on, whether it’s a child needing their clothes changed, rushing to get a notepad and pen because one of them doing something you’ve never seen them do before, or trying to distract some pre-teen 3 year old who’s about to kick off! It’s an amazing, hectic, mad, and hopefully happy place to work, but if you don’t feel a bit stressed or frazzled by the end of the day, you’re not pulling your weight as part of the team.
