What is it like to work at a Roller Skating Rink?
Congratulations on your new job! I’ve worked at many rinks in many capacities, and yes, it can be a lot of fun! However, you must remember that it IS a job. Your new boss is paying you to perform a specific function in his business. That said, a positive attitude and plenty of patience will gain you many friends and make your job so much easier. You didn’t say what position you were hired for, but each one has its own challenges. Remember the customer is the reason you have a paycheck, so treat them even better than you would want to be treated… as long as your boss still makes money! If you are working at the rink, pay attention to your job. It’s easy to be distracted by skating and by friends who want to talk. Use your off-time at the rink to chat, play games, and work on your skating. You are a performer and a convenience for the customer when you’re working.
