What is it like to ride on the park bus?

0

Riding on the park bus is an exciting experience. This is the only way one can travel the length of the park road in a day since private vehicles are not allowed past the Savage River at mile 15. Only the first 15 miles of the park road are paved. The rest of the road is a combination of dirt and gravel. This contributes to a rather bumpy ride on a converted school bus. Comfort is quickly forgotten when you begin your journey through this expansive wilderness. This is a picture of the route traveled by the park shuttle busses.
