What is it like playing Sandy in “Grease” the musical?
Zakrin: Playing Sandy in Grease is an absolute blast. I am so fortunate to have the opportunity to explore a new character with such charm and innocence. I am really enjoying myself. WCCO: You were a finalist on MTV’s “Legally Blonde the Musical: The Search for Elle Woods.” What was that experience like for you? Zakrin: Being on the reality TV show was one of the most challenging yet educational experiences of my life. At the time, I was very young and inexperienced, so it helped me to mature into a young woman and grow as a performer. As stressful and terrifying as it was, it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I wouldn’t be where I am today without it. WCCO: You appeared as Elle Woods more than 60 times during the first national tour. What is the best part about being on stage? The most nerve-wrecking? Zakrin: It is such a blessing to be given the opportunity to take such a difficult character at a young age, and be able to embrace it and make it my own. I learned so much
