What is it like for you to be playing with John Smoltz, Tom Glavine, and Chipper Jones?
“I forget which conversation it was, but I was talking with my wife about a goofy go-between, between John Smoltz and I, talking trash back and forth. She stopped me and said, “Now, wait a minute. You said that to John Smoltz?” It’s great. They’re veterans and future Hall of Famers but you’d never know it hanging out with them. While no one is perfect in baseball, going 10 for 10 set a National League record and I never thought my name would end up in any record book.
