What is it like being a well-known NASCAR driver living in Asheville [North Carolina]?
Robert: People around town, who know me, know me as Robert Pressley from Asheville, N.C. The people that don’t really know me around town know me as a Winston Cup driver. They don’t understand why I stay in the Asheville area. People don’t realize how nice it is in Asheville. In the month of December, in Asheville, I can get away from racing. If I was in Charlotte or Mooresville, I would be in it everyday. Asheville is medicine for me. M.com: How do you deal with the celebrity that comes with the sport? Robert: It’s tough presenting yourself in front of the public. For me, deep down I know that I am Robert Pressley from Asheville, N.C., who was fortunate enough to make it to Winston Cup Racing. The limelight, the glory, the money are all good. But the most important thing is, I love what I am doing. That’s the biggest thing of all. M.com: Do you thank God every morning when you wake up?
