A – It is best to have a bed already set up for your new puppy prior to leaving to get him/her, or as soon as you get home. A soft blanket or cushion in a small cane basket with a chewy toy of some description and a wind-up, ticking clock. If you can get a piece of the mother’s bedding to place in his/her bed. That’s also good as it’ll have the mother and litter’s smell on it to help soothe the puppy. We will happily provide this FREE if you ask. Make sure the bedding is placed out of a draught and somewhere where the puppy can readily contact you – but not in your bedroom. It is not necessary to have the puppy in a warmed area provided it has adequate bedding and blankets for warmth. I suggest the laundry or similar type of an area with a tiled floor in case they poop or wee during the night. It is critical you give the puppy extra understanding and care at this time as he/she will be feeling very “alone” and “lost” in his/her new environment without the rest of the litter and mum. Tr
