What is Isokinetic Muscle Testing?
Isokinetic Muscle Testing is a high-tech way of measuring the strength of the muscles- predominantly in the quadriceps and hamstrings.High level sportspeople have this performed routinely pre-season and then again midseason to check the improvements. Athletes may find that a weakness in one leg maycause an imbalance when running or performing their sport. This method of testing is able to compare the muscle strength in both sides and quantify this strength deficit. After the results have been established appropriate exercises and training can follow to reduce this deficit. With Isokinetic machines costing upwards of 20 000 we are one of the few clinics inEngland who can offer this service. Who is this appropriate for?
