What is ISO 19011 and where can I find a copy of ISO 19011 to support EMS audits?
ISO 19011 is titled the “Guidelines for Quality and/or Environmental Management Systems Auditing”. It provides guidance on audit principals, managing audits, preparing for and conducting audits, and competence of auditors. Like ISO 14001, ISO 19011 is an internationally recognized guide for conducting Quality (ISO 9001) and EMS audits (ISO 14001). The Army Self-Declaration Protocol references ISO 19011 to help ensure a credible and reliable audit culture exists in the Army. This document will be located on the DoD side of DENIX in the near future.
