What is IRS Form 1099-G?
Form 1099-G concerns certain government payments to a taxpayer. These include credits or offsets for past state, and local taxes paid. Other such payments include taxable government grants, agricultural subsidies, and alternative trade adjustment assistance. They also include withholding on unemployment benefits and some loans and crop disaster payments. This form will be sent to you by the government. You should send one copy to the IRS and keep one for your own records.
