What is Iron Overload/Hemochromatosis?
Having a high iron level in the blood without any other symptoms is called “iron overload”. When symptoms like fatigue, weakness, weight loss, abdominal pain, joint pain, diabetes, high blood pressure or hormone changes are present in addition to iron overload, the condition is called hemochromatosis. Hemochromatosis is a serious condition that can lead to potentially fatal organ damage if untreated.
