What is IR and Raman Spectroscopy?
Infrared and Raman Spectroscopies are flexible and complimentary techniques widely used in industry and in academic research to identify the chemical constituents of a broad range of materials. What is the Course Objective? Instrument manufacturers can teach you the basics of how to operate an Infrared or Raman spectrometer. This course focuses on how to interpret effectively the spectra your instrument produces. It will also teach you how the operation of your spectrometer impacts on the data it gives you. Why is This Important? Interpreting spectra is a complex task, which can be confusing. Analysing samples from real processes and experiments is very different from example test samples containing only pure components. Without training, it can be difficult to know which data are relevant. The skills and knowledge this course will give you will enable you to be confident that you are gaining the fullest information from your IR and Raman spectra correctly and accurately.
