What is IPMI and what is the differences between Radial and Bused IPMI?

IPMI, whish runs on I2C, with several ATAC specific extras, is used for the primary low level shelf management communication channel. In the chassis are two independent (redundant) IPMI interfaces. Normally, a bused IPMI solution is chosen meaning that all slots are connected with redundant, parallel I2C busses. To avoid both busses becoming blocked, IPMI interfaces can be routed in a Dual Star or radial configuration. This configuration connects both interfaces of every slot individually with both shelf managers.
