What Is IPDET?
The International Program for Development Evaluation Training (IPDET) is an executive training program in development evaluation managed jointly by the Independent Evaluation Group of the World Bank and Carleton University. It is best known for its flagship program, an intensive and unique training opportunity offered once each year in Ottawa on the Carleton University campus in June and July. In 2008, 251 participants from over 80 countries attended the program. Since it began in 2001, IPDET has graduated nearly 1500 alumni from over 130 different countries. IPDET alumni occupy senior and mid-level evaluation, audit and management positions in developed and developing governments, non-governmental organizations, bilateral and multilateral development agencies, and the private sector.
