• Teaching at least 5 full classes: • Observed by your OIA supervisor at least 3 times • A videotaping of a teaching session (usually included in one of the OIA supervisor observations) • Observation done by a peer • Observation done by a content expert • A faculty member in your department is preferred. However, if not available, the content expert could be an approved TA peer in your department • The best situation would be that you could teach as instructor of record during the fall, spring semester or summer I or II sessions. • Summer pre-session or Winter sessions are NOT appropriate for the instructional practicum. If you find you are hired for these sessions, the OIA will provide instructional support as we would for any teaching staff. • You will be cohorted with other TAs during the semester you are registered for Instructional Practicum.
