What is involved in the education process? What is Hazing, and will I be hazed?
The education process is comprised of ceremonies, assignments, and instruction that the candidates for membership are required to participate in to become Hermanos of the fraternity. The assignments are designed to educate the candidates on the history and traditions of Lambda Alpha Upsilon, as well as to provide them insight to their own cultural heritage. Hazing is an illegal practice that is not tolerated by the National Executive Committee, nor the membership of Lambda Alpha Upsilon Fraternity, Inc. It involves requiring candidates for membership to participate, forcibly or willingly, in any behavior that is harmful to their physical and/or mental well-being. The National Executive Committee of Lambda Alpha Upsilon Fraternity will expel any members and/or chapters found guilty of this practice and notify the academic institute and the local authorities of their actions.
