What is involved in participation?
Before any person can participate in a clinical trial, they must first consent to participate. After reviewing all aspects of involvement including potential side effects, the candidate must authorize their participation. Parents can consent for a minor, and those who are incapacitated must have legal guardian consent to participate. Medication is typically provided as part of the study. In clinical trials, EKG and blood tests may be obtained at various intervals. Visits are scheduled at the convenience of the participant.
