On most rifles the barrel is removed from the action to ease the process. If this is not possible without marking the metalwork, we mount the action on a mandrel. Threads are cut using single-point, full profile carbide inserts. Every barrel is re-crowned after threading. Chrome Moly barrels are re-blacked to prevent the thread rusting. Stainless barrels are bead-blasted if required. All work is then proof tested at the London Proof House.
