A dropped kerb or footway crossing is where the kerb stones at the edge of the road are lowered to enable vehicular access to the other side of the pavement,usually to a private or commercial property. Only the Highways team is authorised to arrange installation and there is cost for this service. If you would like to apply for a dropped kerb, you will be required to fill in the Dropped Kerb Application Form (Form DK1).
