What is involved in a frame off restoration?
A. A frame off restoration is when the motor, suspension, rear axle, exhaust, brake/fuel lines, brakes, trans, hood, front fenders, doors, interior and trunk lid are removed. The doors of the vehicle are braced and the body Is then placed on a body cart, as shown here: The frame is then bolted to what is called a rotisserie, which gives us a 360 degree access to the frame, as shown here: The frame is then cleaned, sand blasted, painted and re-assembled. Once the frame is complete it is removed from the Rotisserie. The body is placed on the rotisserie which gives us 180 degree access to the bottom of the car. From there it can be cleaned, repairs made to the underside etc.
