What is Introduction to Sociology about?
Introduction to Sociology is an interactive course whose purpose is to introduce students to the breadth and subject matter of the science of sociology. It is a systematic investigation of the basic principles and concepts of sociology with an emphasis on culture, social relationships, groups, social institutions, and social structure. In the course, we will examine the social forces that influenced the development of sociology as an academic discipline and the scientific methods that sociologists use to study men and women as members of social groups.
