What is interLingual soLutions/soLuciones interLinguales?
interLingual soLutions is primarily an online resource for educators who work with Spanish speaking English Learners to develop foundational literacy skills. The term interlingual simply means “of, relating to, or involving two or more languages”. Here, in the United States, and particularly in California, we live in an increasingly multicultural and multilingual society. Spanish and English are our dominant languages and our educators have increasing responsibility to understand the linguistic foundations of these two alphabetic languages, to know and build upon knowledge in both languages, L1 being the first language and L2 being the second language of the teacher and/or students. The term solutions refers to ideas or products that are treated as deliverables that address a problem or need. It is our goal to promote deliverables that will empower coherently articulated, refined classroom instruction that bridges the gap between L1 and L2.
