What is interferential current?
Interferential stimulation current is based on using a carrier frequency that is much higher than normal. This higher frequency (4000Hz and above) seems to allow the current to penetrate through the skin and soft tissue much deeper with less impedence. The higher frequencies are criss crossed and interfere with each other inside the body. The interference creates a beat frequency of the difference which is what creates the desired effect on the body. This is why you must criss cross the two lead wires like you are connecting an “X” with one wire on one / line of the X and the other wire on the opposite or \ line of the X.
