What is Intelligent Mail® barcode with Confirm?
The Intelligent Mail barcode (IMb™) replaces the POSTNET barcode and is the new U.S. Postal Service barcode standard for address data. IMb also includes Confirm, another Postal service, which allows Endicia customers to utilize electronic refunds (e-refunds) for First-Class Mail letters, flats, and postcards. When printing these mail classes, IMb encodes each address with a unique Confirm serial number that is registered to Endicia. Although not the same as Delivery Confirmation or Express Mail tracking, the Confirm number allows the mailer to verify whether or not a letter, flat, or postcard has been entered into the USPS mailstream. This verification process is what allows Endicia to permit e-refunds on mailpieces previously only eligible for physical refunds. E-refunds must be requested within ten days of printing. Important: The 60-day physical refund process is no longer available for mailpieces featuring IMb. Refund Policy: http://www.endicia.
