Intellectual property is an invention and/or material that may be protected under the patent, trademark, and/or copyright laws, or by contract. The Office of Technology Transfer is the service unit responsible for protecting intellectual property from all schools and colleges on the Ann Arbor campus, as well as U-M’s Dearborn and Flint campuses.
