What is inner ear?
The inner ear plays a vital role in the identification, frequency and pitch of the sound. It helps to hear the sound. The The balancing part of the inner ear includes three semicircular canals and vestibule. The inner ear consists of two organs. They are: Semicircular canals: It acts as a balancing organ. Cochlea: It is the place where sound is produced. It acts as a microphone. It passes the sound pressure from the outer ear into electrical form. These electrical bits are passed to the brain through the auditory canal. There are three fluid filled parts. They are tympanic canal, vestibular canal and middle canal. Inner Ear Problems Inner ear is one of the most important parts of the ear. Hearing process is never complete without the presence of inner ear. It might be handy to know the problems affect the inner ear. The primary problems which affect the inner ear are: • Acoustic neuroma • Labyrinthitis • Vestibular Neuritis Acoustic neuroma: It might a slow growing non-cancerous tumor.
