What is Infrared Imaging (also called thermography)?
Infrared cameras have been in “common” use since the ’60s. We have all seen infrared pictures of the earth from space as well as some misleading infrared images in movies. Infrared imaging uses cameras that capture infrared radiant energy on special detectors. These cameras cannot see “into” objects or through walls but can record the heat present on the surface of the object. While this may seem insignificant, you would be surprised at what information can be gathered.
