What is Information Security?
Information Security (IS) is the state of protection of information resources from identified risks. This state, also referred to as “confidence level,” results from all security measures taken by a company to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information that it holds, in any form (paper, electronic, PDF file, etc.).
Information Security supports the University and its staff and students by developing strategies and monitoring compliance to ensure that information and information systems such as intellectual property, corporate applications, and student records are: • Available to authorised staff and students, • Protected from unauthorised modification or tampering, • Protected from unauthorised access.
