What is industrial gasification and how does it work?
Industrial gasification is an advanced thermo-chemical process that uses a gasifier to convert hydrocarbon feedstocks into syngas, a valuable raw material or clean-burning fuel that is composed primarily of hydrogen and carbon monoxide. Unlike a combustion reaction, gasification uses a reduced amount of oxygen to control the conversion or chemical breakdown of the carbon feedstock. The syngas can then be used to produce a wide variety of chemicals, fertilizers and synthetic fuels, or burned to generate power.
