What is Indoor Percussion?
One of most dynamic and exciting groups at RV, the Indoor Percussion Ensemble competes each year during the winter and spring seasons. This ensemble contains many different types of percussion instrumentation, both stationary the pit, and marching the battery. The music selections provide highs and lows that shape the impact response of the audience and judges, and provide opportunity to develop conceptual ideas. A combination of musical and visual programming allows these students to participate in a competitive venue with the TIA and WGI circuits. The 2007 ensemble took 2nd place at the TIA Chapter I Scholastic A Championship with their high energy show entitled Auto Focus. The RV Indoor Percussion ensemble is under the direction of Mr. David Britton as well as several highly trained instructors.
