What is Individualized Instruction?
Individualized instruction provides an opportunity for students to receive credit for University courses by meeting with faculty members in other than the regular classroom setting. Instruction received will be on an individualized basis outside the classroom. It is different from Independent Learning in that the student actually meets with the professor, and there is no “course study guide.” Individualized Instruction is different from Independent Study in that the courses are pre-designed and there are a limited number of options available (whereas with Independent Study the course is designed by the student and professor on a case-by-case basis). This option may be used whenever the student cannot reasonably be expected to enroll in the campus course.
