What is “independent narrative film,” the focus of the BA in Cinema degree?
Independent films tend to emphasize character more than action, unlike typical Hollywood studio-produced films. They often deal with highly complex character relationships and unusual situations. With rare exceptions, independent films are not action or science fiction/fantasy films (The Blair Witch Project is a notable exception). Narrative films tell fictional stories.
