What is included when my OBS 1 way service is installed?
Before the installation can take place you must have a working telephone service (analogue or digital) and a working telephone modem in the case of an analogue telephone service. If you have an ISDN service it must be terminated with a terminal adaptor which includes a digital modem. (e.g. NT1 plus II). The installation includes: mounting of the satellite dish and receiver, cabling up to 34 metres to terminate on a wall plate adjacent to your computer. Installation and configuration of the satellite modem. The satellite modem connects to your computer using an USB port. The installer will configure your computer to use the OBS 1 way service. This includes the installation of the software on your computer to accelerate the download of data via the satellite. The Optus installer will also configure your computer to connect to the Optus dial service using your telephone service (analogue or digital) using your modem or Telstra’s ISDN terminal adaptor.
