What is included in the FHS Sports Season Fees?
Since this is Home School, each year has to be zero-sum — we have to collect enough to break even on expenses, and each team’s expenses are independent of the other teams. Each season, we identify the number of games we plan to play, where we plan to play them and the refs we’ll need. Since we only pay for Home games, we can estimate the costs pretty closely. We try to play every team twice — that gives us an away game (other team bears the facility and referee costs) and a home game (we bear the costs). If we cannot play both a Home and an Away game, we split the costs with the other team for the one game we play. NOTE: Since the Admin Fee covers the Fairfax County facilities/fields we use, facilty fees are often not part of the season fees. For soccer and volleyball, practices and games may often be played on the Fairfax County facilities, so there would be no extra cost.
