What is included in Question #1?
Question #1 focuses on the physical building expansion and renovation of Indian Trail Academy to provide space for an additional 1,500 students in grades 9-12. The addition is approximately 300,000 sq. ft. and includes academic classrooms, music rooms, a performing arts center/auditorium, a competition size gym with bleachers, fitness center/weight room, cafeteria and commons area, as well as athletic fields, additional parking and adequate storage areas. The existing Indian Trail Academy school will also be renovated and reconfigured to maintain the unique “school within a school” Academy program as a choice school (with capacity for approximately 1,200 students) open to all KUSD high school students. Academy classroom “pods” have been redesigned to provide larger classrooms, improved safety and security, and more natural light.
