What is included in Orange County United Way overhead costs?
A percentage of operating costs go to support staff who work diligently to research the needs of the community, evaluate programs available to meet the needs and verify that the agencies running the programs are accountable. Staff also train agency partners on measurement tools so that we are able to report outcomes to our donors and the community and work with partners on ways to collaborate and consolidate to make programs most effective. Orange County United Way is proud to operate below 20%. We keep our expenses low by committing to organizational efficiency; continuously looking at ways to reduce costs and eliminate waste; relying on volunteer support and in-kind contributions from partners.
