The collection process resulted in 472 occupational categories that are matched to equivalent SOC detailed occupations. In addition to the standard occupational data, there is also occupational data cross-tabulated by industry, earnings, and educational level available. • The available areas are essentially the same as the 1990 data; Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA), Primary Metropolitan Statistical Area (PMSA) States, Places of 50,000 or more and counties. One significant difference is the addition of “County Sets.” In an effort to maintain confidentiality of personal information, the Census combined counties with less than 50,000 people into larger county sets.
